About me
Fatimah Emad is a Palestinian graphic and type designer based in Saudi Arabia. Her practice moves between visual identities, Arabic and Latin typography, and printed matter, with a particular interest in the relationship between language, cultural memory, and visual form. She approaches letterforms as records of the places, histories, and people that shape them.
Drawing from vernacular lettering, archival material, and everyday visual culture, she explores how inherited forms can find contemporary expression while retaining their character. Her process combines research, drawing, and digital experimentation, moving between individual details and the systems that connect them.
Alongside her design practice, Emad shares her interest in Arabic typography through workshops and talks. She sees these encounters as spaces for exchange, where looking, making, and questioning can bring new perspectives to familiar forms. Across her work, she seeks to create a clear relationship between an idea, its cultural context, and the way it takes shape.
